2st down=New Hair

Back at the end of may I finally got my 2stone award from Slimming world 👏👏👏👏👏
Ever since then I've felt like I needed a new look. I've been letting my hair grow for about 2 years but never did anything with it as it took ages to dry and tbh I couldn't be bothered. So I took the plunge and asked my hairdresser to cut it all off 🙈🙈🙈
I've had about 6-7 inches cut off the length in total and gone for a graduated lob. I've kept the ombre as its easia for me to maintain. I love it, and this last week I've worn my hair down nearly everyday. I want to buy a big barrelled waver/curler to get the effect I'm after. I've also bought some Tresemme perfectly undone foam which gives a good texture to create waves, it is currently on offer in boots and superdrug.

If you would like to follow my slimmingworld journey I'm on instagram @jos_swdiary xxx

Bye Bye Baby, Hello Todler

So as any mum knows when you have a baby you get asked the question "breast or bottle?". I had always envisaged breast feeding my first child but unfortunately mother nature made this slightly difficult for me. For a start Rex was 9lb 3oz when born so quite the little chunk, and secondly he had a high palette which made it difficult for him to latch properly. He went jaundice and the nurse suggested I should top up formula feed to help him as well as me. This ment a quick trip to tesco to grab bottles and agonize over which formula to put him on. By the end of our first week together he ended up getting thrush which ment no more breast feeding but I carried on combo feeding by expressing off what I could. Once we got the OK I tried to get back into breast feeding but it was like a little shark biting at me, I was bleeding, he was crying, it was a sorry state of affairs. I carried on with this boobie torture for another 3 weeks but as we were nearing Xmas and our first holiday away I just couldn't deal with it any more. I didn't want to be sat away from my family for 7 hours while I expressed off measly amounts of milk. It may sound selfish but it was making me miserable. I made the tough decision to stop the breast milk and go fully formula. I felt like such a failure that I couldn't provide for my little boy, and even to this day I still do. There's such a pressure put on you to breast feed but it was down to what was best for me AND my little boy. Once we switched he was fine and started sleeping through the night which was great.

Anyway fast forward 17 months and it has come to that time to stop the formula. Ive always said I'd stop when he was 18months and today is the day. It just so happens I used up the last of the formula tonight too. It feels like my little boy is finally becoming a toddler. He relies on me a lot less nowadays which is upsetting, but its so lovely seeing him grow into this gorgeous little human who will be the love of my life forever more.

Looking like a Simpson character

Hungry little boy

Happy with his milkies

I hope I don't offend with this post, it was more for me than anything. Please comment below if you have had any similar experiences xXx

Hair Bands

I am forever snagging my hair on hairbands so got these from accessorize today. The plastic ones are £2.50 for 6 and the elastic ones are £3.00 for 5. They are both ment to stop hair snagging and kinks which is annoying if u spend 1/2 hour straightening your hair only to take it down and have a big kink. I hope they work. Comment below if you have used either of them x

Gnoming Around

Yesterday we decided on a family day out. With Rex being 18 months all he wants to do is run around but he does get tired quite quickly as he's full speed 24/7. We decided to go to the gnome reserve which is based about 40 minutes from us. I had been here when I was about 10 and thought it would be great for Rex to run around and not get into trouble, and I was right. On arrival we were given hats so we weren't out of place amongst the gnomes. It only took about 25 mins to walk around but as stated Rex doesn't walk he runs. He'd tired himself out once we got to the fairy garden so we popped him in his pram, picked up our quizzes and started searching for the answers, unfortunately we didn't get all the answers correct.
Overall we were there about 1 1/2 hours as we had a little picnic on the lawn. It was a lovely day and we will definitely return again x

A little intro about me

Well Hi there
I thought I'd start with a brief intro about myself. I'm 28 and live in the sunny climes of North Devon. I have a little boy who is 18months old and the light of my life. I'm currently working part time at the local hospital as a ward clerk. I am a keen slimming world instagramer so follow me at @jos_swdiary if ur interested in photos of food haha. I have lost nearly 2stone with slimming world and am keen to promote my success. The same as any woman I like fashion and have recently cracked out the sewing machine so might try making a few bits myself. I like to be creative when I can whether its cooking or making things for myself or Rex.
That's about it really. As I get more used to this I will post more about my life. Hope u enjoy x
